We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Worker to join the Long Term Children's Services Team. This team works with children and families where long-term support and planning is required to ensure the safety and well-being of children. The ideal candidate will have strong assessment and case management skills, and a passion for supporting families through meaningful interventions.
Key Responsibilities:Manage a caseload of children and families requiring long-term support and intervention.Undertake assessments in line with the Framework for the Assessment of Children in Need and their Families.Develop and implement care plans, ensuring child-focused planning in partnership with children, families, and relevant professionals.Chair and attend multi-agency meetings such as Child Protection Conferences, Core Group meetings, and Looked After Child reviews.Monitor and review cases in line with statutory requirements, ensuring all records are maintained accurately and up-to-date.Prepare clear, evidence-based reports for court and other statutory purposes.Work collaboratively with partner agencies to safeguard children and promote positive outcomes.Ensure all practice is compliant with current legislation, statutory guidance, and departmental procedures.Requirements:Social Work qualification (BA Social Work, MA Social Work, DipSW or equivalent)Registration with Social Work EnglandMinimum of 1-2 years' post-qualifying experience in a statutory children's services settingProven experience of working with children and families in need, on child protection plans, or in care proceedingsStrong knowledge of relevant legislation including the Children Act 1989, Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018, and related statutory guidanceAbility to work independently and within a multidisciplinary teamExcellent written and verbal communication skillsA full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is preferred
