Join our dedicated Family Safeguarding Team in Wigan as a Children’s Social Worker. In this pivotal role, you will work collaboratively with families to ensure the safety and well-being of children in our community. Your expertise will be essential in assessing needs, developing tailored support plans, and implementing interventions that promote positive outcomes for children and their families. You will engage with various stakeholders, including schools, health services, and external agencies, to deliver comprehensive support and ensure the best interests of the child are at the forefront of all decisions.

Key responsibilities include:

Conducting thorough assessments of children and families to identify risks and needs. Developing and reviewing child protection plans in partnership with families. Providing direct support and guidance to families to promote safety and well-being. Maintaining accurate records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards. Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to case discussions.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Experience in child protection and safeguarding. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a team and manage a caseload independently.

In this vital role, you will be responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. You will conduct assessments, manage cases, and work collaboratively with families, schools, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for children in need.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting thorough assessments of children and families in accordance with statutory guidelines. Developing and implementing care plans that address the specific needs of children and families. Working closely with multi-agency partners to coordinate effective interventions. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records and documentation of all casework. Participating in team meetings and contributing to the continuous improvement of service delivery.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Strong understanding of safeguarding practices and relevant legislation. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
