Are you an experienced Social Worker passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children and families?
Torbay Council is seeking a dedicated Child Protection Social Worker to join their dynamic team on an agency basis.
Position Details:
Location: Torbay, Devon
Rate: £40 per hour
Additional Benefits: Accommodation allowance provided
Contract: Ongoing, full-time
About the Role:
You'll be part of a supportive Child Protection team, carrying out a range of statutory duties, including:
Managing a caseload of children subject to Child Protection Plans, Child in Need Plans, and Public Law Outline (PLO) processes
Completing robust assessments and reports for Child Protection Conferences and Court
Direct work with children and families to achieve positive outcomes
Working in a Signs of Safety framework alongside multi-agency partners
About You:
Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration
Significant experience in Child Protection and Court Work
Strong assessment, report writing, and risk management skills
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a child-centred approach

Torbay Council is seeking qualified Social Workers to join their Children's Services, specifically within the Specialist Services teams, which include the Children with Disabilities and Children Looked After Teams. These teams are dedicated to supporting children and young people with disabilities, ensuring their well-being and promoting positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and young people's needs, including those with disabilities, to develop and implement effective care plans.
* Initiate appropriate safeguarding actions to protect children and young people at risk of significant harm.
* Manage a diverse caseload, ensuring that children, young people, and their families receive appropriate support and services.
* Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals to provide holistic support tailored to each child's unique needs.

Requirements:
* Degree in Social Work (e.g., Dip SW, CQSW, CSS) or equivalent.
* Registration with Social Work England.

* Strong understanding of child development, attachment theory, and the impact of trauma on children and young people.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with children, families, and professionals.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-agency framework to deliver comprehensive support.
