As a social worker within our Children's Assessment Safeguarding service you will be office based where you can collaborate with partners to provide targeted support and interventions for children and families. You will provide effective engagement and relationship management with vulnerable children, young people and families and other stakeholders.
Experience of formulating, implementing and reviewing agreed care plans.
Experience of working within a statutory Children's Services setting.
Can demonstrate an awareness of the impact of their involvement as a child care professional
Experience of carrying out timely assessments of service users' needs, using practice guidance and departmental policies and procedures

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Worker to join a dynamic Assessment Team within a UK-based local authority. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in safeguarding children, assessing their needs, and ensuring timely interventions that promote positive outcomes for children and families.
Key Responsibilities:Conduct high-quality assessments of children and families, identifying risks and needs in accordance with statutory guidance and best practice.Undertake Section 17 (Child in Need) and Section 47 (Child Protection) assessments, ensuring that children's welfare remains paramount.Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners, including health professionals, educators, and law enforcement, to ensure a holistic approach to assessments and interventions.Develop and implement robust care plans, ensuring that recommendations align with the best interests of the child.Attend court proceedings and provide well-evidenced reports when required.Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, ensuring compliance with UK legislation and local authority policies.Participate in regular supervision, team meetings, and ongoing professional development opportunities.Essential Requirements:Qualified Social Worker (Degree or equivalent in Social Work).Registration with Social Work England.A minimum of two years' post-qualifying experience within children's services, preferably in an assessment team or frontline safeguarding role.Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Children Act 1989 & 2004, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and the Care Act 2014.Excellent assessment, analytical, and report-writing skills.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing competing priorities.Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (desirable but not essential, depending on location).
