Senior Practitioner | Family Safeguarding | Hertfordshire County Council - PermanentSenior Practitioner required to join the Family Safeguarding serviceFull-time, permanent positionOffice base: Stevenage (covering East Hertfordshire) or Hemel (covering West Hertfordshire)Case-holding role with hybrid working optionsSalary package: £47,754 per annum- Basic salary: £41,511- Market enhancement: £6,243 (paid monthly on a pro rata basis)- Welcome payment: £1,000 (one-off payment upon successful completion of 6-month probation)About the Role:

Hertfordshire County Council is recruiting experienced Senior Practitioners to join its Family Safeguarding teams across the East and West of the county. This is a vital, high-performing service working directly with families in need of support, delivering effective, relationship-based interventions.

This is a great opportunity to join an Outstanding local authority, where the Family Safeguarding model is nationally recognised and supported by a strong infrastructure of multidisciplinary partners and clinical professionals.

You'll be working in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment with opportunities for development and career progression.

Key Responsibilities:Holding a complex and varied caseloadUndertaking assessments and carrying out Section 47 investigationsLeading and contributing to strategy meetings, child protection conferences, and planning processesDeveloping robust care plans to ensure children are safeguarded and supportedContributing to service development and mentoring junior team membersWhat We're Looking For:At least 2 years post-ASYE experience in a children's safeguarding teamProven ability to manage risk and deliver high-quality caseworkStrong report writing and communication skillsConfident using Mosaic (desirable but not essential)Able to commute to base office (Stevenage or Hemel) with hybrid working availableTo Be Considered:You must hold a recognised Social Work qualification (Social Work degree / DipSW / CQSW)Registered with Social Work EnglandFull UK driving licence and access to a vehicleMust have the right to work in the UK without sponsorshipEnhanced DBS requiredReferences will be requested
