Join the Isle of Wight Council as a Senior Social Worker in our dedicated Adoption Team, where you will play a crucial role in transforming the lives of children and families. As a Senior Social Worker, you will lead assessments, provide expert guidance, and support the adoption process, ensuring the best outcomes for vulnerable children. Your expertise will help foster positive relationships with adoptive families, birth families, and other professionals in the field.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting comprehensive assessments of prospective adopters and children in need of adoption. Providing ongoing support and guidance to adoptive families throughout the adoption process. Working collaboratively with other agencies and professionals to ensure the best interests of children are prioritized. Managing complex cases, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies. Supervising and mentoring junior social workers and students, fostering a culture of continuous learning.The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:
A recognized Social Work qualification (BA/MA in Social Work or equivalent). Registered with Social Work England. A minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience in child protection or adoption. Strong understanding of adoption legislation, policies, and best practices.
