Are you a dedicated and passionate social worker looking to make a difference in the lives of children and young people? Devon County Council is seeking an Advanced Social Worker specializing in Looked After Children (LAC) and Children in Care (CIC) to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable children, ensuring they receive the support and care they need to thrive.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting comprehensive assessments and developing tailored care plans for LAC/CIC. Working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams, including health and education professionals. Providing expert advice and guidance to less experienced social workers and fostering a supportive team environment. Engaging with families and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for children. Maintaining accurate case records and documentation in accordance with statutory requirements.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Registered with Social Work England. Significant experience working with LAC/CIC and understanding of relevant legislation and policies. Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
