Are you a passionate and dedicated social worker looking to make a difference in the lives of children and families? Herefordshire is seeking a qualified Children’s Social Worker to join our Fostering/Assessment Team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality assessments and support to children in foster care, ensuring their well-being and promoting positive outcomes. You will work collaboratively with families, foster carers, and other professionals to create safe and nurturing environments for children.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting thorough assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks. Developing and implementing care plans in collaboration with families and foster carers. Providing ongoing support and supervision to foster families. Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to the safeguarding of children. Maintaining accurate records and documentation in accordance with legal and organizational standards.

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

A recognized Social Work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work). Registered with Social Work England. Experience in children’s social work, particularly in fostering or assessments. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families. Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities.
