Join our dedicated team in Darlington as a Children's Social Worker in the Assessment/Safeguarding Team. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing the needs of children and ensuring their safety and well-being, while working collaboratively with families and various agencies.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify the needs and risks faced by children and their families. Developing and implementing effective care plans that prioritize the safety and welfare of children. Working closely with partner agencies, including schools, health services, and law enforcement, to coordinate multi-agency support. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and reports in compliance with legal and organizational standards. Participating in court proceedings and presenting evidence as required to protect the best interests of children.

To be considered for this position, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Proven experience within a children's social work setting, particularly in assessment and safeguarding. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families. Excellent organizational and time management abilities, capable of handling a caseload effectively.
