We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker to join our Duty & Assessment team in Bury. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for conducting timely and thorough assessments of children and families in need of support and protection.

Key responsibilities and duties include:

Responding to referrals and conducting initial assessments to determine the level of need and risk involved. Developing and implementing care plans in collaboration with service users, colleagues, and partner agencies. Conducting home visits and interviews to gather information and assess the safety and well-being of children and families. Participating in case conferences, court proceedings, and multi-agency meetings to ensure the best possible outcomes for service users. Providing support and guidance to families to promote positive change and prevent the escalation of issues.

Essential qualifications and skills:

Qualified Social Worker with a valid registration with Social Work England. Experience working in a Duty & Assessment team within a local authority setting. Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to child protection and safeguarding. Excellent assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with service users, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
