Job description

We are looking for a qualified social worker to start work in an adult's mental health team in East London.

You will be working to safeguard individuals who are more vulnerable as a result of a mental health condition, exclusion or diminished capacity. A good working knowledge of legislation such as the Care Act 2014, Mental Health Act 1983 (and 2007 amendments), and the Mental Capacity Act 2005 is essential in order to provide appropriate care to adults in need of protection.

The role consists of undertaking assessments to determine the best course of action for intervention and provision of treatment, and facilitating service user choice and empowerment, promoting independence as far as possible. Must be able to record, investigate and respond to safeguards and risk management boards, complaints and compliments and provide relevant, detailed and professional responses.

You will be required to provide and/or coordinate a range of psychological interventions with a focus on improving the health and well-being of individuals facing personal adversity and share information and decision making with team managers and senior staff.
