Job description

We are recruiting for an exciting role within a team of social workers based in West Midlands with responsibility for improving outcomes for children and families. Safeguarding children and young people is a key priority for our Department of People and, as such, applicants should have experience of statutory work with children and families within a safeguarding role.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the safeguarding of children by:

  • delivering interventions and direct work with children and families
  • undertaking assessments and care planning in accordance with statutory requirements and departmental policies
  • working closely with partner agencies to make sure we are providing the best support possible
  • managing a defined caseload covering children in need of protection, children requiring adoption and ‘looked after’ children
  • creating effective records and reports

Applicants should demonstrate good organisational skills along with a commitment to teamwork. They will also require a social work qualification, DIPSW or equivalent, DBS clearance and full driving licence. The start date for the role will be 23/11/2020.
