Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) | Safeguarding and Quality Assurance | Nottinghamshire City Council

An experienced Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) is needed by Nottingham City Council on a locum basis.

Working within the legislative and statutory planning frameworks, Government Guidance and the Department's policies and procedures, the post holder will be one of a team of officers who act as an independent chairperson for inter-agency case meetings, in particular Reviews for Children Looked After and Child Protection Conferences. The post-holder will monitor professional practice in order to ensure that the interests of children and young people in Nottingham City are safeguarded in accordance with statutory requirements.

Please Note** Children in Care reviews are being held virtually through Microsoft Teams due to Covid-19 until further notice, however equipment will need to be picked up and eventually returned to the office.

This is an on going contract at least 3 months long offering up to £39 per hour.

To be considered you must have at least 5 years post qualified experience as a Social Worker including recent and/or significant experience in a similar statuary service, ensuring that you have good knowledge of all relevant legislation. You must also have a recognised Social Work qualification (Social Work degree / Diploma in Social Work)

Along with the above experience, interested candidates should have:

  • Up to date SWE registration
  • At least 2 references from the last 5 years of employment if applicable
