Youth Offending

Youth Offending, or YOT, teams work with young people who have committed an offence, or are considered high risk of doing so.  Social Workers within these teams meet with young people in care and other groups who are at high risk of offending (including those who have a formal reprimand/warning from the police, or those on bail) and those who have offended previously; working with them to prevent (re)offending. This can be through offering support with schooling, drug & alcohol advice, leisure activities, or working directly with their families.
Youth Offending Officers supervise young people to encourage them to change their outlook and behaviour. They also work alongside families and the community to help promote positive changes in young people.
Social Workers and Youth Offending Officers will work alongside the Youth Inclusion Support Panel (YISP) and Intensive Supervision and Surveillance Programme (ISSP).

If you are GSCC registered or have experience of working with Youth Offending we would love to hear from you!
